Last 5 October, the Motorway A-33 section between Jumilla and Yecla was opened to traffic. In December 2014, the Minister of Development at the time, Ana Pastor, placed the work’s first stone.
Of the 23.4 kilometres constructed, 7.5 of them were built by CHM in UTE with Padelsa, with a 18,277,432.52€ budget (VAT excluded). Works were completed 7 months ahead of the initial deadline set by the Spanish Government.
The three sections open between Jumilla and Yecla join the two sections between Blanca and Jumilla, put in operation in August 2012, which will continue from Yecla to La Font de la Figuera. When all of the A-33 sections are in service, the motorway will benefit traffic, connecting Medio and Alto Vinalopó with Murcia and Valencia.
In addition to other attendees, the Minister of Development, Mr Íñigo de la Serna, the President of the Region of Murcia, Mr Fernando López Miras, and the mayor of Yecla, Mr Marcos Ortuño, were present at the inauguration.
