The collaboration between these two entities signals a firm commitment to innovation in construction. The agreement signing ceremony, led by José E. Capilla, Rector of the UPV, and Juan Ignacio Colado, CEO of CHM, lays the groundwork for a future in which artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization are fundamental pillars in the design and execution of construction projects.
The CHM Chair: A Catalyst for Innovation in Construction
Directed by Julián Alcalá, this chair is dedicated to exploring how AI and digitalization can overcome traditional challenges in construction. "The use of drones to monitor construction sites and predictive digital models are just the beginning," explains Alcalá, highlighting how these tools can optimize project management and anticipate problems before they arise, marking a before and after in the construction sector.
The Inaugural Event: Looking to the Future of Construction
March 7, 2024 an event will be held in the auditorium of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos UPV in Valencia that will address the crucial role of BIM in the modernization of the sector.
One of the key aspects that will be addressed during this conference is the current state of BIM implementation in public administrations, sharing experiences and identifying best practices that can serve as a reference for future procurement and management processes.
"BIM implementation in public administrations: challenges and opportunities."will be a space for meeting and exchange of knowledge, in which professional experts come together with a common goal: to explore the current status, challenges and opportunities involved in the implementation of BIM in contracts promoted by public agencies.
The speakers are prominent personalities from the sector who will provide their point of view on innovation in construction and the process to implement BIM strategies in public administrations:
- Vicente Dómine (Regional Secretary of Infrastructures and Transport) who will be in charge of opening the conference and Débora Domingo (Vice-rector of Sustainable Development, UPV).
- Alessandro Orsi, Director of Green Building Factory.
- Javier Ruiz del BañoThe Port Authority of Valencia, responsible for infrastructures of the Port Authority of Valencia.
- Javier Lozano LópezDeputy Director of BIM and Digital Continuity at ADIF.
- José Merchén FisacDeputy Assistant Director for Sustainability and Innovation of the General Directorate of Roads.
After the lectures, we will attend a round table moderated by Alessandro Orsi, in which Juan Antonio García Cerezo (head of the Technical Unit of Alicante FGV.), Carmen García, (head of the Territory Management area in the APV) and Alberto Domingo (professor of ETSICCP UPV) will present their different points of view and will answer any questions you may have.
