Since 1948At CHM, we have made engineering and construction a concrete way to transform the environment.
Over the years, we have connected cities, managed water resources, improved mobility and shaped spaces that respond to the real needs of those who use them. We do more than just build: we solve technical challenges with efficient and functional solutions, always with a clear focus on usability, safety and efficiency.
Our story began with roads, today we connect entire regions.
What started as a family business in Alicante, specialized in roads, today is a national company that executes projects in all the key branches of infrastructure: roads, railways, hydraulics, building, renewable energies, services, road maintenance and other lines of business such as port and airport infrastructures and concessions.

BUSINESS MILESTONES
1948
This is where our story begins
Mr. José Martínez, founder of the company, began his career in the sector as a public works contractor. From the first moment, his work is characterized by effort and determination, betting on the world of infrastructures with a clear vision: to build with seriousness, commitment and vocation of permanence.
1961
Aglomerados Martinez
Don José Martínez, founder of the company, leaves behind his stage as a Public Works Contractor and starts his business project under the name of Aglomerados Martínez. His activity is focused on the construction of roads with macadam stone, a technique he already mastered. This step marks the beginning of a technical and operational legacy, with an initial presence in Valladolid and Albatera (Alicante).
1966
First asphalt plant
Innovation materialized with the installation of the first hot mix asphalt plant in Albatera (Alicante). This advance marks a turning point in the technical evolution of the company, incorporating industrial processes that increase operating capacity and improve the quality of execution on site.
1969
Relocation to Alicante and termination of activity in Valladolid
A strategic change redefines the course of the company. The head office moves first to Albatera and then to the city of Alicante. This decision marks the end of the activity in the north of Spain and consolidates a new stage of growth in the southeast of the peninsula.
1979
From agglomerados Martinez to Hormigones Martinez
In order to consolidate its presence in the Levante area, the company changes its name from Agglomerados Martínez to Hormigones Martínez. This strategic step marks the beginning of a new stage, focused on hydraulic concrete, and positions the brand within the sector with its own identity and growing recognition.

1989
First stretch of highway
After 28 years executing minor contracts and consolidating a brand on solid foundations, Hormigones Martínez takes a decisive step: it is awarded its first highway section. A real milestone for the company in the field of infrastructure.
The work is located in the province of Almería, in the town of Los Gallardos, and is known as the Venta del Pobre section.
1992
First treatment plant: WWTP Crevillente
Hormigones Martínez S.A. takes a key step in the hydraulic works sector by being awarded the construction of its first water treatment plant: the Crevillente WWTP, in the province of Alicante. This project marks the beginning of its specialization in infrastructures for water management and treatment.
1994
European record: single-span launched bridge
In Castillo de Baños (Granada), the company built a single-span bridge that, at the time, became the longest in Europe in its category. An unprecedented technical achievement that held the record for eight months and consolidated the company as a reference in unique structures.
1997
Start of internationalization: Morocco
The international expansion begins with the entry into Morocco, where the company executes relevant contracts in Nador and Marrakech. This step marks a milestone in the trajectory of CHM, which consolidates its presence outside Spain and has been operating in the country for 14 years.
1999
Hormigones Martínez S.A.'s R&D area is born.
The commitment to innovation is reinforced through the creation of the Research and Development area within Hormigones Martínez S.A. This internal unit promotes new technical solutions, improves construction processes and positions the company at the forefront of the sector.
2002
New identity: the CHM brand is born
The company officially adopts the name CHM, a strategic change that reflects its evolution and new positioning in the sector. This new identity projects a modern, efficient organization committed to quality in every project.
2003
Start of high-speed rail works
The company enters the railway sector with high-speed projects, expanding its field of action and demonstrating its ability to adapt to new areas of technical and infrastructure development.
2012
International expansion: arrival in Poland
The second phase of the internationalization process takes the company to Poland, where it executes relevant projects such as sports pavilions, educational centers and real estate developments. This stage consolidates its experience in building works outside the national scope.
2015
Third international destination: Algeria
International expansion continues with the company's entry into Algeria, where it is participating in the construction of several sections of highway in the Mascara region. This new step reinforces its external projection and its capacity to execute large infrastructure projects in diverse environments.
2023
Updating of the group's corporate image
A revision of the group's image was carried out with the aim of unifying the visual identity of all the companies that make up the group. This renewal responds to a strategy of continuous improvement and reflects the group's capacity to adapt to new times without losing its essence.
