The works include the following main elements:
Callosa-Cox Viaduct with a length of 742.75 m and varying widths, from 14 to 34 m, accommodating a double main track, two side tracks, and 6.30 m pedestrian platforms.
Redován Viaduct, a statically indeterminate viaduct 589.10 m long, 14 m wide, with 16 spans between 29 m and 37.65 m.
Upper steps on the platform (4), three of them with a width of 8 m and one with a width of 15 m and a length of 476.80 m.
Callosa-Cox Station is located on the Callosa Cox Viaduct, with the station building and car park located beneath the viaduct and the platforms above the deck. The station work includes the building, platforms, facilities, car park, landscaping, and rearrangement of the roads necessary for access.
The Callosa tunnel (which is immediately after the Callosa-Cox viaduct) has a length of 2,050 m, a clear width of 8.60 m, and a free internal area of 85 m², passing through the Sierra de Callosa and the LIC “Sierra Callosa de Segura”. In addition to the railway tunnel, two auxiliary emergency evacuation galleries have been built (parallel to the main tunnel on its right side), with safety areas at each end of the tunnel.
To maintain existing rail traffic, a variant of the current railway, in standard gauge, has been built, which will carry rail traffic until the new line enters service.
In addition to the more singular units, work has been carried out for ground stabilization, drainage wicks and gravel columns, prefabricated and in-situ pile foundations, embankments, rock embankments, platform preloading, cross-drainage works, service replacement, environmental restoration, etc.
The project was carried out as a joint venture with Dragados (53.51% share), CHM (30.1% share), and Tecsa (16.51% share), with a contract award budget of €189,876,363.68 (including VAT).
