The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office has published the granting of a new CHM patent, which is titled “Dosing-spreading hopper for ramming machines”, with application number P 201531552 and publication number ES 2610972 B2.
This invention is the result of a research process carried out by CHM, which is linked to the latest patent obtained on the “Technique for improving the skid resistance of asphalt road surfaces through surface micro-treatments.”.
The new patent consists of a dosing-spreading hopper for aggregates, gravels, and other granular or powdery materials, specially designed to be attached to or be an integral part of a tarmac roller machine.
This hopper has been designed and developed for implementation in construction and restoration of asphalt road surfaces (including streets, sports courts, or similar) using the innovative technique of micro-surface treatments, for the improvement of skid resistance. This technique is based on the addition of fine aggregates up to 1 mm onto a freshly laid or pre-existing asphalt wearing course with the aid of binders.
The equipment allows for great precision in dosing fine materials and perfect uniformity of distribution over the surface to be treated. However, the hopper can also be used for any other treatments of bases with similar requirements, or as a spreader for granular or powdery materials, such as gravel and aggregates in general, salt, or dry conglomerates.
